How we work
Editorial policy
Last updated October 28, 2026
Our guides help you make sense of a glow up: how to take progress photos that show real change, how skincare routines work, and what a realistic body transformation looks like. Because some of these topics touch your health, we hold them to a few clear rules.
How we choose topics
We write about the questions people actually ask: what they search for, what they ask us, and the problems we see when people track a glow up. If a question has a useful, honest answer, we write it.
How we research
- Primary sources first. We rely on peer-reviewed research and on medical and professional organizations such as the American Academy of Dermatology, the National Institutes of Health, Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic.
- We cite what we use. Every guide links to its sources in the text and lists them at the end.
- We say when evidence is weak. If research is limited or mixed, we tell you, rather than presenting it as settled.
How we write
- Plain language, practical steps and no filler.
- No miracle claims, no “lose 10 pounds in a week”, and no shaming.
- Where a topic needs a professional, such as a skin condition, a medical issue or disordered eating, we say so clearly.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. Every guide is edited and fact-checked by a person before it’s published, and every source is checked by hand.
Review by professionals
When a guide has been reviewed by a qualified professional, such as a dermatologist, a registered dietitian or a certified trainer, their name and credentials appear at the top of the guide.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides regularly and update them when the evidence or best practice changes. If you spot an error, email us at [email protected] and we’ll correct it.
About our app
Glow Up Diary is our own app. When a guide mentions it, it’s because it fits the topic, and we never claim it does something it doesn’t. We don’t accept payment for coverage in our guides. If we ever use affiliate links, we’ll say so on the page.
Not medical advice
Our guides are for general information. Read our medical disclaimer for more.
